Cadillac expects one of every three vehicle sales to be EVs in 2025

From CNBC: 2025-03-18 07:00:01

Cadillac plans for 30-35% of US sales to be electric vehicles in 2025, up from 18% in 2024. The automaker aims to offer five EV models this year, including the Escalade IQ and Optiq. Despite slower EV adoption industry-wide, Cadillac is committed to growing its EV business to meet customer demand.

Cadillac, like other brands, is adjusting plans to exclusively sell EVs due to slower consumer adoption. Trump’s lack of federal support for EVs adds to concerns about sales. The Escalade IQ and Optiq are key new models for Cadillac, aiming to attract new customers and compete as a top-selling luxury EV brand in the US.

The Escalade IQ, starting at $130,000, is Cadillac’s largest all-electric SUV and will test the market for large EVs. The Optiq, priced around $55,000, serves as an entry-level EV and features a new partnership with Dolby Laboratories for advanced audio technology. Despite potential tariffs on Mexican-made vehicles, Cadillac remains optimistic about sales.
