Approximately 25,000 people attended the 2025 ETHDenver conference in Colorado, which included the state’s governor, crypto company representatives, and US lawmakers. The event featured technical presentations, networking events, and entertainment for all ages, with an optimistic atmosphere despite falling token prices. Children enjoyed mascots, while adults participated in poker games and giveaways.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis spoke at the event, highlighting the state’s innovative approach to cryptocurrency. The conference also addressed various topics in the crypto space, including policy concerns. Colorado residents have been able to pay taxes with cryptocurrency since 2022, and the state allows the use of digital identification on phones. ETHDenver founder John Paller expressed the conference’s commitment to Colorado’s innovation hub.

Hester Peirce of the SEC was a notable speaker at ETHDenver in 2024, but did not attend this year. The SEC’s dismissal of an enforcement action against Consensys impacted the event. Consensys CEO Joe Lubin expressed relief and excitement following the SEC’s decision, signaling a renewed focus on advocacy for Ethereum and the crypto industry. President Trump’s crypto working group canceled its appearance, opting for a White House summit on March 7.
