Ethereum core developers create third testnet, Hoodi, for Pectra upgrade preparation. Launch on March 17, activation on March 26. Mainnet launch possible on April 25 if Hoodi runs smoothly. Pectra combines Prague and Electra proposals, implements 10 EIPs, scaling proposals included. Delays due to client readiness and bugs in previous testnets.

Pectra experienced delays, launched on Sepolia on March 5 with issues on geth nodes. Hoodi aims to mimic mainnet, with 20 million test ETH distributed.
