Ethereum’s upcoming Pectra upgrade on March 5 could enhance network capacity, easing long-term selling pressure, according to analysts. The Ether price fell over 32% in February, hitting a low of $2,073 before recovering to $2,245. The upgrade includes increasing the validator staking limit to 2,048 ETH to reduce sell pressure.
The Ethereum Foundation announced a leadership shift with two co-directors, Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak, taking the helm on March 17. This change comes amidst concerns that layer-2 scaling solutions and competition from high-throughput chains are eroding investor confidence. Vitalik Buterin outlined a strategy to strengthen Ethereum and increase transaction capacity.
