Fidelity Investments plans to launch an ETF tracking Solana’s SOL cryptocurrency, filing a 19b-4 form with the SEC. The company has not filed an S-1 registration yet. Solana is the sixth-largest crypto asset with a market capitalization of $71 billion. Interest in a Solana ETF is rising, with previous filings by Cboe BZX and predictions from industry experts. Fidelity previously launched spot bitcoin and ethereum ETFs. Volatility Shares recently issued Solana ETFs, but they hold futures contracts, not spot crypto. Fidelity has been developing a digital assets ecosystem since 2014.
