HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Celebrates Apprentice School

HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division celebrated its newest class of apprentice graduates, recognizing their hard work and dedication to the three-to four-year program combining classroom instruction with hands-on shipbuilding experience. The program has produced over 4,000 graduates since 1952, with over 600 students currently enrolled. The apprentices, including Overall Apprentice of the Year Cody Gildea, receive competitive wages, benefits, and specialized training in one of 15 registered Department of Labor programs. Ingalls Shipbuilding has a history of over 85 years in designing, building, and maintaining ships for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, with many graduates advancing to positions within the company.
