A federal judge has ordered the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to stop efforts to reduce staff, siding with the employee union in a lawsuit against acting director Russell Vought. The judge’s decision came after the CFPB leadership, appointed by President Trump, initiated a campaign to lay off nearly all staff.
