Australia-based Kaiser Reef has acquired the Henty gold mine and exploration tenements in Tasmania for A$31.6m from Catalyst Metals. The deal includes an upfront payment of A$15m, A$16.6m in shares, deferred payments, royalty agreement, and an option for a JV at the Maldon processing plant in Victoria.

Kaiser has secured A$30m in commitments for the acquisition through a placement of new shares, covering cash consideration and transaction costs. An additional A$10m was secured through a gold loan and prepayment facility. Shareholder approval is pending in May for the remaining A$20.9m.

The Henty gold mine has a historical yield of 1.4 million ounces at 8.9g/t. Kaiser aims to increase annual gold production to over 30,000oz with the acquisition, targeting 50,000oz per annum. Ragnar Metals reached a strategic investment agreement with Kaiser in May 2024, enhancing the company’s growth prospects.
