Kia Corp plans to produce hybrid vehicles at Hyundai’s new U.S. factory in mid-2026 to meet demand, CEO reveals. Kia vehicles to make up 40% of production at the Georgia facility. Hyundai aims to increase factory’s annual production capacity to 500,000 vehicles from 300,000, boosting combined U.S. production capacity to 1.2 million vehicles per year. $21 billion investments announced by Trump and Hyundai chairman at White House. Trump imposes 25% import tariffs on cars and auto parts, potentially impacting Asian automakers like Hyundai and Kia. South Korea is the world’s second-largest exporter of vehicles to the U.S. after Mexico, followed by Japan.
