One in four S&P 500 firms may invest in Bitcoin by 2030.

A partner at a tech-focused financial advisory firm predicts that a quarter of S&P 500 firms will invest in Bitcoin by 2030. Treasury managers fear losing their jobs if they miss out on potential gains. Strategy is the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, with GameStop planning to join the list soon.

Tech investors and executives foresee Bitcoin reaching $500,000 to $1,000,000 or more by 2030. Firms adopting Bitcoin treasury strategies have seen positive impacts on their share prices. However, there is a distinction between firms using Bitcoin for diversification and those restructuring their business models around it.

Bitcoin as a treasury asset is still an unproven strategy, despite increased adoption. It remains uncertain if Bitcoin can effectively hedge against USD and fiat inflation or diversify treasury risks. Compared to gold, Bitcoin is a more flexible asset due to its digital nature and GAAP recognition.

Bitwise recently launched the Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF to track companies with at least 1,000 Bitcoin in their treasuries. Bitcoin’s potential to become a mainstream treasury asset is still uncertain, but interest and adoption continue to grow among corporations.
