Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning has entered a new business partnership with Patrick Whitesell, acquiring a minority stake in Manning’s company, Omaha Productions. The stake, valued at over $750 million, represents approximately 10% of the company. Whitesell’s new platform, funded by Silver Lake, will invest in sports, media, and entertainment companies.
Omaha Productions, founded by Manning and Jamie Horowitz in 2020, has a successful track record of producing TV series and live events for major media partners like Disney, Netflix, and NBCUniversal. The company is known for projects like Netflix’s “Quarterback” and “Receiver” documentary series, as well as the popular “ManningCast” on ESPN.
Silver Lake, a long-time investor in Endeavor, recently closed a transaction to take the company private, valuing it at $25 billion when factoring in TKO Sports. As Omaha Productions welcomes Silver Lake as an investor, the company plans to expand into new business ventures beyond media, including a recent investment in Good Good Golf.
The investment from Silver Lake and Whitesell is aimed at increasing Omaha’s value and creating new opportunities for growth, rather than providing immediate cash injections. Both Silver Lake and Whitesell played key roles in expanding Endeavor’s reach from a talent agency to a sports and entertainment empire, acquiring entities like UFC and WWE under the TKO Group umbrella.
