REX American Resources faces challenges with crush spread, but earnings beat estimates.

Despite a 15% YoY decline in net sales and revenue to $158.23 million, earnings per share exceeded analyst estimates at $0.63. The company reported a 46% YoY drop in net income attributable to shareholders at $11.1 million, with a consolidated ethanol sales volume of 74.6 million gallons for the quarter. REX is currently reviewing details of an ethanol expansion project, with a budget of $220-230 million. Cash reserves stood at $359.1 million as of Jan. 31, with the Board authorizing the repurchase of up to 1.5 million shares. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits remains neutral towards REX shares, which have declined over 12% in 2025 and over 16% in the past 12 months.
