Blockchain payments firm Ripple Labs announced the launch of a nonprofit organization focused on educating the public about crypto’s benefits, with Ripple funding the initiative with a $50-million grant. The new National Cryptocurrency Association aims to help Americans understand crypto adoption and stay informed about the industry’s developments.
In a move to influence US voters, Ripple contributed $45 million to the political action committee Fairshake and its executives personally donated to political campaigns. The nonprofit association was registered as a 501(c)(4) organization, allowing it to accept unlimited corporate and personal donations without disclosing its donors.
Ripple’s executives, including CEO Brad Garlinghouse and CLO Stuart Alderoty, maintained close ties with the US government under Trump, attending White House events and supporting crypto initiatives. Despite ongoing legal battles with the SEC, Ripple remains engaged in industry events and initiatives to promote crypto adoption and education.
