23andMe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, prompting concerns about genomic data security. The foundation plans to integrate 23andMe’s data onto its blockchain, allowing users to own and control their genetic information while ensuring privacy through encrypted transfers.

State attorneys general have advised 23andMe customers to delete their data following the company’s bankruptcy filing. SEI, the native token of the Sei network, experienced a 3% price increase after the news broke, indicating investor interest in the potential acquisition and blockchain integration.
