Indian shares opened higher on Tuesday, with the Sensex up 575 points and the Nifty up 178 points. Top gainers included Britannia Industries, Shriram Finance, Hindalco, and ICICI Bank. Hindustan Unilever rose 1.2% after getting approval for an acquisition. Tata Motors added 1.4% after incorporating a new subsidiary. IRCON International surged 7% on a new contract, while NBCC (India) rallied 2% on a work order. Coffee Day Enterprises jumped 5% on debt clearance. IndusInd Bank rose 0.5% after Moody’s affirmed its credit ratings, while Castrol India fell 2.6% on ex-bonus trading.
