Indian shares opened higher on Monday following positive comments from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding tariffs. The S&P/BSE Sensex rose 0.7% to 77,421, while the NSE Nifty was up 0.7% at 23,503. Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Power Grid Corp were among the top gainers, up 1-2%. Larsen & Toubro surged 2.3% with the announcement of Subramanian Sarma as Deputy Managing Director. Reliance Industries rose 1% after acquiring a 74% stake in Nauyaan Shipyard. NCC gained 3% on securing a Rs 1,480.34 crore contract from Bihar Medical Services.
