Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname (Staatsolie) successfully raised $515.8m with a new bond, surpassing the $304.1m target by $211.7m. The interest rates for the US dollar and euro bonds are set at 7.75% and 7.25%, respectively, with payments starting on 23 September 2025. The bond proceeds will support Staatsolie’s involvement in the $12.2bn GranMorgu offshore oilfield development in Block 58. Additionally, part of the proceeds will refinance previous Staatsolie bonds worth $195m.

De Surinaamsche Bank arranged the 2025–2033 Staatsolie bond issued on 23 March 2025 with an eight-year maturity. The investment in the GranMorgu project aligns with Staatsolie’s vision of “Energising a bright future for Suriname,” aiming to establish the country as a key player in offshore energy production. Staatsolie is seeking $1.5bn in bank financing for the project in collaboration with TotalEnergies and APA Corporation after receiving a positive final investment decision in October 2024.
