Michelle Obama’s public benefit company, Plezi Nutrition, partners with NBA champion Stephen Curry to launch Plezi Hydration, a sports drink focused on health and wellness. The drink boasts no added sugar, less sodium than competitors, and a full daily dose of vitamin C.

Curry’s involvement in Plezi adds to the trend of athletes and celebrities investing in sports and energy drinks, challenging the dominance of Gatorade, Powerade, and BodyArmor. The demand for advanced hydration is high, with a rise in powder mix concentrates and oral rehydration brands challenging traditional sports drinks.

Plezi, meaning “fun” in Creole, offers three flavors and will be sold in California at major retailers and nationwide on Amazon. Priced at $2.29 per 16.9-ounce bottle, the drink contains 70 calories and is endorsed by Obama, who aims to promote healthier options for active individuals.
