S&P 500 snaps 4-week losing streak, closes up 1.5% on Friday

The S&P 500 ended the week on a positive note, snapping a four-week losing streak in a volatile week on Wall Street. The index closed up 1.5% on Friday, but still ended the week down 2.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also saw gains, rising 1.3% on Friday. Technology stocks led the gains, with the Nasdaq Composite posting a 1.9% increase. Despite the weekly losses, the major indexes are still up for the year. Investors continue to monitor inflation concerns and the Federal Reserve’s plans for interest rate hikes.
