TOPPAN to acquire 80% stake in Italian BOPP film producer Irplast

TOPPAN Speciality Films has agreed to acquire 80% of Irplast, an Italian company specializing in BOPP films. The acquisition aims to integrate Irplast’s technology into TOPPAN’s operations to develop innovative film solutions for various applications. Irplast’s films are known for transparency, durability, and recyclability, making them ideal for packaging and labeling food, personal, and home-care products. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. TOPPAN aims to enhance sustainability and customer satisfaction through this acquisition. Last December, TOPPAN acquired Sonoco Products Company’s packaging business for $1.8bn.
