Walmart’s Mexico unit plans to invest over $6 billion in the country this year, tripling its spending from the previous year. The funds will be used for new stores and distribution centers, creating 5,500 jobs. Mexico City-listed shares rose more than 2% on the news. Walmex will provide more details at an investor’s day.
