During the first quarter of 2025, Allen & Overy and White & Case were the top legal advisers for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the Middle East and Africa. Allen & Overy led by deal value at $2.8bn, while White & Case led by deal volume with four transactions.

Despite slight decreases in value and volume compared to Q1 2024, Allen & Overy and White & Case maintained their top positions in Q1 2025. White & Case also ranked fourth by value, while Allen & Overy held the fourth position by value as well during the period.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer ranked second by deal value in Q1 2025 with $2.3bn in transactions. Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher followed closely at $2.2bn, with White & Case at $1.8bn, and AS&H Clifford Chance at $906m.

In terms of deal volume, Baker McKenzie and DLA Piper tied for the second spot with three transactions each. Allen & Overy and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher followed with two deals each, although of lower value.
