Perenti’s Barminco division will cease operations at MMG’s Khoemacau Copper Mine in Botswana by June 30, 2025, after the current contract ends. The company will assist in a smooth transition. Financial performance at the mine did not meet internal targets, leading to the decision. Barminco will sell its equipment to MMG as per the agreement.

Barminco recently secured a $73.85m contract with Nevada Gold Mines for the Goldrush Project in the US. Perenti’s managing director appreciates the opportunity to work at Khoemacau and wishes MMG success. The company will continue to support the client during the transition period. Barminco’s legacy includes training many Batswana citizens in underground mining.
