Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller Sold Nvidia and Broadcom and Is Buying This Spectacular Artificial Intelligence (AI) Stock Instead

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller made a strategic move in late 2022 by buying a large stake in Nvidia as OpenAI launched ChatGPT. By summer 2023, he had over 950,000 shares of Nvidia, accounting for 14% of his portfolio, but later sold all Nvidia and Broadcom shares due to valuation concerns in 2024.

Druckenmiller shifted focus to Amazon, buying over 72,000 shares, around 1.9% of his public portfolio, by the end of 2024. Amazon Web Services, AWS, is a leader in cloud computing, giving Amazon a significant advantage in providing AI services. Amazon continues to invest in AI capabilities and infrastructure, making it a strong investment opportunity.

Druckenmiller remains bullish on AI in the long run despite selling Nvidia and Broadcom. He sees potential in Amazon’s AI capabilities for AWS, which have helped improve the retail giant’s business operations. With Amazon’s stock price now closer to levels seen in October 2024, it presents a value opportunity for investors, including Druckenmiller.
