Caesars Entertainment posts narrower first-quarter loss on sports betting surge

Casino operator Caesars Entertainment reported a narrower loss, driven by strong digital performance with high demand for sports betting. Revenue from its digital unit reached $335 million, up from $282 million last year. Quarterly net loss was $115 million compared to $158 million a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was $2.79 billion, up from $2.74 billion last year. Shares rose 3% after the news.
