Investment firm Canary Capital files for a staked TRX ETF with the SEC, expanding its crypto investment products. The new ETF aims to offer exposure to TRON’s ecosystem and staking rewards, potentially setting a precedent for U.S. crypto ETFs. This marks Canary’s seventh crypto-focused ETF application in over a year.
TRON is a blockchain platform known for user-friendly decentralized applications with faster transaction times. Launched in 2017 by Justin Sun, TRON aims to empower content creators by giving them direct ownership rights and better compensation. TRX, the network’s native token, is currently trading around $0.25.
Newly appointed SEC Chairman Paul Atkins brings a business-friendly regulatory stance to digital assets. Atkins, a former SEC commissioner, is expected to advocate for clearer digital asset regulations. His appointment comes shortly after Canary’s filing for the staked TRX ETF, indicating potential changes in the crypto regulatory landscape.
