China’s XPeng Clocks Record Q1 EV Sales, Deliveries Surge 3.6X

Chinese EV company XPeng Inc (NYSE:XPEV) reported delivering 33,205 Smart EVs in March, a 268% increase, and a total of 94,008 in the first quarter of 2025, up 331% from last year. XPeng also launched upgraded versions of the G6 and G9 with AI features and expanded into Indonesia.
Li Auto Inc (NASDAQ:LI) delivered 36,674 vehicles in March, a 26.5% growth, totaling 92,864 in the first quarter, a 15.5% increase. As of March 31, 2025, Li Auto’s cumulative deliveries reached 1.226 million, with a vast retail, service, and charging network in China.
NIO Inc (NYSE:NIO) delivered 15,039 vehicles in March, a 26.7% growth, totaling 42,094 in the first quarter, a 40.1% increase. With cumulative deliveries reaching 713,658 as of March 31, 2025, NIO continues to expand its presence in the EV market.
XPeng stock surged 167% in the last 12 months, reporting strong revenue growth and vehicle deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2025. The company expects further revenue growth and plans to build a super-fast charging network in China in partnership with Volkswagen AG.
Li Auto and Nio stocks have faced challenges in the last 12 months, with Nio struggling to achieve full-year profitability due to high R&D expenses and operational costs. Despite this, both companies continue to innovate and expand their EV offerings.
