CRS beat Q3 earnings estimates, increased FY25 profit view, but missed revenue estimates.

Carpenter Technology Corporation (CRS) exceeded earnings expectations in Q3 fiscal 2025, reporting $1.88 per share. Net revenues increased 6.1% year over year to $727 million, missing estimates. Segment-wise, Aerospace and Defense saw revenue growth, while Transportation and Medical end-markets declined.
Gross margin for CRS rose to 27.6% in Q3, with a record adjusted operating income of $138 million. Specialty Alloys segment sales missed estimates at $643 million, while Performance Engineered Products saw a decline in net revenues to $95 million.
CRS ended Q3 with $151.5 million in cash and cash equivalents. It raised its fiscal 2025 operating income guidance to $520-$527 million and expects Q4 operating income to be $146-$153 million.
CRS shares have gained 145.1% in the past year. Commercial Metals Company (CMC) reported lower earnings and revenue in Q2 fiscal 2025. ATI Inc. and Metallus Inc. are set to release their Q1 fiscal 2025 results, with differing expectations.
