Dow Falls 1,000 Points, S&P Slides 3.5%, Cutting Into Yesterday’s Rally

The stock market plunged on Thursday, erasing gains from the previous day after President Trump focused tariff threats on China. The Dow dropped 1,015 points (2.5%), with the S&P 500 falling 3.5% and the Nasdaq sinking 4.3%.

Yields on the 2-year Treasury note dipped to 3.85%, while the 10-year yield slightly decreased to 4.39%. The 30-year yield rose to 4.85%, marking its largest four-day increase since March 18, 2020. Despite this, a $22 billion auction of 30-year Treasury bonds was successful earlier in the day.
