European Markets Track US Lower, ECB Cut Rates

The Stoxx Europe 600 and Morningstar Europe Index both dropped less than 1%, with healthcare, defense, and technology sectors leading the decline. US futures indicate a 1% increase for the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq. FTSE 100 in the UK traded lower, impacted by defense stocks BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce.

Asian markets saw gains, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 rising 1.35% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index closing nearly 2% higher. US Treasury yields slightly increased, with the 10-year bond yield at 4.32%. Eurozone bond yields also rose, with the 10-year German bund at 2.53%.

In currency markets, the euro remains around $1.14 against the dollar, while gold stays above $3,300 an ounce after hitting a new record of $3,352. Bitcoin reached $84,510, up 0.90% from the previous day. Morningstar does not hold shares in any securities mentioned.
