Taiwan’s ASE Technology Holding Co. is considering a plan by Nvidia to build AI servers worth up to $500 billion in the U.S. The company is evaluating an invitation to invest in the U.S. but has not decided on the size or timing of the investment. Analysts question the feasibility of the $500 billion plan.

ASE has been invited by a customer to support their business in the U.S. Discussions are ongoing, but no details on investment size or timing have been decided. The product considered would be an extension of what the company offers in Taiwan. Siliconware Precision Industries, an ASE subsidiary, currently does chip packaging for Nvidia.

Nvidia has not commented on the situation. ASE is still evaluating opportunities with interest, ensuring any decision made will be economically viable. Siliconware Precision Industries does not have manufacturing presence in the U.S., but another ASE subsidiary, ISE Labs, has testing factories in California.
