Exxon Mobil partners with Calpine to capture and store CO2, expanding their CCS customer base

Exxon Mobil (XOM) partners with Calpine Corporation to capture and store 2 million metric tons of CO2 annually from Calpine’s Baytown Energy Center near Houston. This marks ExxonMobil’s sixth CCS customer, totaling ~16 MTA of CO2 under contract. The CO2 will tie into ExxonMobil’s CO2 pipeline system along the U.S. Gulf Coast for enhanced oil recovery and sequestration.
