GE HealthCare Blames Tariffs For Lowering 2025 Profit Outlook, Initiates Stock Buyback

GE HealthCare reported first-quarter 2025 adjusted EPS of $1.01, beating the consensus of 91 cents. Sales were $4.78 billion, surpassing the consensus of $4.66 billion, with a 3% revenue increase year-over-year. Total company orders grew 10% organically, with a net income margin of 11.8% up from 8.0% the prior year.
The company authorized a $1 billion stock buyback and reaffirmed 2025 guidance despite estimated tariff impacts. Adjusted EBIT margin is expected to be 14.2%-14.4%, down from 16.7%-16.8%. Adjusted EPS is forecasted at $3.90 to $4.10, a 9% to 13% decline from 2024, with free cash flow of at least $1.2 billion.
GE HealthCare acquired full ownership of Nihon Medi-Physics Co., Ltd, adding to its radiopharmaceutical portfolio. NMP generated 28.2 billion Japanese yen in revenue in 2023. GE Healthcare acquired Amersham plc in 2004 and held a 50% stake in NMP.
