HCLTech CEO signals opportunities despite expected tariff impact

HCLTech posted slightly lower-than-estimated fourth-quarter revenue but sees growth opportunities in generative AI and other technologies to reduce costs. CEO C Vijayakumar believes in strong growth post-short-term uncertainty. Consolidated revenue rose 6.1% to 302.46 billion rupees, with a projected growth range of 2% to 5% for fiscal 2026.
Tata Consultancy Services missed earnings estimates, while Infosys forecast flat to 3% revenue growth for fiscal year 2026. HCLTech’s quarterly net profit rose 8.1% to 43.07 billion rupees, with deal wins at $3 billion. Telecom and media vertical saw a 24.3% expansion, with four of seven segments growing.
HCLTech shares closed 0.1% lower on Tuesday, with the IT stocks sub-index ending 0.57% lower. Analysts view HCLTech’s guidance as the best among peers post-Infosys’ tepid numbers. The company expects tariff-led turmoil to impact retail and manufacturing segments and spill over to others.
