Itron, Inc. is collaborating with Norwegian energy utility, Norgesnett, on the first-ever edge computing deployment in the Nordics using Itron’s Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio. Norgesnett will deploy 10,000 DI-enabled smart endpoints in the first phase of the project in the first half of 2026. This deployment will provide greater distribution system visibility and control at the grid edge, allowing for efficient adoption and flexibility of distributed energy resources. The solution also enables real-time energy usage data for both end-users and the utility, promoting energy efficiency and sustainability in Norway’s electricity system.
