Japanese food group St Cousair is acquiring the jam business of US-based Kelly’s Jelly, with the financial terms undisclosed. The acquisition is being conducted through St Cousair Inc. (SCI) in Oregon, aiming to enhance sales in the global market, particularly focusing on the US specialty food sector.

Kelly’s Jelly produces pepper jelly and fruit spreads in the north-western US, while St Cousair’s Oregon factory manufactures products under the Kuze Fuku & Sons brand. The US subsidiary, SCI, launched in 2017, produces apple cider vinegar drinks, smoothies, jams, and sauces.

The division being acquired reported sales of Y106.21m ($723,000) in the most recent fiscal year, with the acquisition projected to have a minor impact on performance this fiscal year. St Cousair expects the deal to support the company’s long-term performance improvement strategy.

St Cousair’s acquisition of Kelly’s Jelly follows previous deals to acquire Portlandia Foods in 2023 and Bonnie’s Enterprises in 2024, accelerating SCI’s growth in the US market. The company aims to enhance production capacity and sales power through cross-selling opportunities with existing brands to increase corporate value.
