JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) reported a 39% increase in ETF assets in the first quarter, totaling $239.9 billion, with $19.1 billion in inflows. Despite a 4.6% drop in the S&P 500, investors poured $296 billion into ETFs, benefiting issuers like JPMorgan and BlackRock Inc. (BLK), which saw $107 billion in net inflows. JPMorgan focuses on active ETFs, with assets in this category growing 58% to $177.2 billion. CEO Jamie Dimon highlighted economic uncertainties, including tariffs and trade wars, in the face of positive factors like tax reform and deregulation.
