Mistral AI partners with CMA CGM to develop AI solutions, aiming for sales increase

French tech startup Mistral AI has secured a €100m ($110m) multi-year partnership with shipping company CMA CGM to develop tailored AI solutions. The five-year agreement will focus on logistics services and media businesses, with a total projected AI investment of €500m. Mistral AI aims for a tenfold sales increase by 2025.

The partnership aims to enhance customer service and shorten response times for CMA CGM advisers dealing with one million emails weekly. The deal includes developing bespoke AI models for various business units. Despite ongoing EU-US AI regulation tensions, Mistral AI and CMA CGM showcase French collaboration in uncertain times.

In a joint interview, Mistral AI’s CEO and CMA CGM’s chairman discussed the partnership’s benefits, but specific financial targets were not disclosed. Mistral AI recently launched a mobile version of its AI chatbot, Le Chat, and is reportedly considering an IPO. The deal signifies a significant step forward in AI innovation within the shipping and logistics industry.
