Morgan Sindall Construction completes the transformation of the Crawley Innovation Centre, turning it into an economic and technological hub for Crawley Borough Council (CBC) in the UK. The project, part of the SCAPE Construction framework, includes extensive upgrades and conversions, with a focus on sustainability and social value.

The 2,500m² centre boasts six workshop rooms, 23 offices, co-working spaces, and a café, set to open in mid-2025. Funded by the national government, the centre aims to drive economic recovery post-Covid, stimulate growth, and attract business investments in Crawley.

Collaboration with local businesses and suppliers helped Morgan Sindall achieve a carbon reduction of over 110 tonnes, supporting a minimum social value return of 30% on the project. The team engaged in apprentice training, school outreach, and local job creation, with nearly £1m spent locally, benefitting small and medium-sized enterprises.

Guy Hannell, Morgan Sindall Construction Southern Home Counties area director, commends the partnership with CBC and SCAPE in delivering the Innovation Centre. The commitment to boosting the town’s economy and fostering innovation is praised, with anticipation for the research and development outcomes post-completion. The facility looks forward to welcoming new tenants.

Morgan Sindall Construction recently began work on a purpose-built laboratory facility in King’s Cross, London, appointed by Kadans Science Partner. The company’s dedication to sustainable construction and community engagement continues to drive impactful projects across the UK.
