Morrisons partners with NCR Voyix to upgrade POS systems and improve customer experience

British supermarket chain Morrisons has selected NCR Voyix commerce platform to upgrade its POS systems, enhancing customer shopping experience. This five-year agreement will implement new POS technology across 13,000 checkout lanes in nearly 500 stores. The move signifies a shift towards modern, scalable solutions and includes ongoing support through NCR Voyix Managed Service.

Morrisons will utilize NCR Voyix Edge’s software-as-a-service framework to improve customer interactions and integrate updates seamlessly. The platform’s Insights component will provide real-time data for better decision-making. Morrisons aims to offer personalized digital experiences to customers while maintaining efficient physical store operations.

NCR Voyix’s next-generation self-checkout system will reduce waiting times and boost customer satisfaction. Morrisons’ partnership with NCR Voyix aims to elevate store performance and enhance the overall customer experience. In March 2025, Morrisons reported a 2.4% increase in total sales for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024/25, reaching £4bn ($5.1bn).
