Index provider MSCI reported a rise in first-quarter profit due to increased demand for index products and analytics services. Market volatility from Trump’s tariff announcements prompted asset managers to adjust portfolios, driving up demand for data services. Recurring subscriptions in its index segment rose 9.6% to $233.3 million. Operating revenue increased by 9.7% to $745.8 million, but operating expenses also rose by 8.3% to $368.8 million. The company saw an increase in profit to $288.6 million for the quarter ending March 31, with shares losing 11% so far this year.
