Nasdaq reports strong revenue growth in first quarter 2025

Nasdaq, Inc. reported first quarter 2025 net revenue of $1.2 billion, a 11% increase over the same period in 2024. Solutions revenue grew 9%, Financial Technology revenue increased by 10%, and Index revenue grew by 14%. ARR reached $2.8 billion, up 8% year-over-year, with SaaS revenue representing 37% of ARR. GAAP diluted earnings per share grew by 69% in the first quarter of 2025.
Nasdaq’s Chair and CEO, Adena Friedman, highlighted the company’s ability to deliver growth across divisions in a rapidly shifting environment. CFO Sarah Youngwood noted strong revenue growth and robust EPS growth across all three divisions.
In the first quarter of 2025, Nasdaq returned $138 million to shareholders through dividends and $115 million through common stock repurchases. The company also repurchased $279 million of senior unsecured notes.
Nasdaq is updating its 2025 non-GAAP operating expense guidance to a range of $2.265 billion to $2.325 billion and maintaining its non-GAAP tax rate guidance of 22.5% to 24.5%.
Financial Technology saw durable and broad-based ARR growth, with strategic wins and upsells across various technology platforms. Regulatory Technology signed new clients, while Capital Markets Technology secured strategic deals.
Index revenue growth was driven by $27 billion in net inflows in the first quarter, with new product launches contributing to a sixth consecutive record quarter. Nasdaq also surpassed $3 trillion in market value for total listing transfers since 2005.
Market Services delivered record net revenues, with record cash equities and derivatives volumes in the U.S. Nasdaq also aims to expand market access with 24/5 trading in the second half of 2026.
Nasdaq signed an enhanced agreement with Amazon Web Services to offer cloud-based solutions for market operators. The company is focused on executing its 2025 strategic priorities of Integrate, Innovate, and Accelerate for sustainable growth.
