Singapore stock market falls over trade war concerns, with STI closing 2.95% down

The Singapore stock market has fallen over 150 points in five straight sessions, with the Straits Times Index opening lower on Friday due to global trade war concerns. The STI closed 2.95 percent down at 3,825.86, with financial, property, and industrial sectors leading the losses. Wall Street also saw significant declines, with the Dow dropping 5.50 percent, NASDAQ falling 5.82 percent, and S&P 500 plunging 5.97 percent. China announced a 34 percent tariff on all U.S. imports, contributing to market uncertainty. Crude oil prices hit a three-year low of $62 a barrel on fears of reduced fuel demand.
