The Financial Services Authority (FSA) of Oman launched the National Health Insurance Platform, Dhamani, to streamline health insurance operations. It aims to simplify information exchange and claims processing between insurers and healthcare providers. Dhamani has successfully facilitated three million transactions in the first quarter of 2025, benefiting over 650,000 policyholders.

FSA CEO Abdullah Salim Al Salmi highlighted Dhamani’s regulatory functions and positive impact on Oman’s health insurance market. The platform connects to 33 private hospitals and three healthcare complexes, ensuring quality services and timely financial settlements. It also maintains a database for medical research and handles up to 40,000 transactions daily.

To support Dhamani’s development, a modest fee will be levied on hospitals utilizing the service. The platform’s establishment costs totaled OR1.6m. Dhamani’s implementation addresses challenges faced by insurance stakeholders and enhances citizens’ access to healthcare services in Oman. The platform is a significant step towards improving the country’s health insurance system.
