PepsiCo reports Q1 profit decrease and cuts annual profit outlook due to revenue decline

PepsiCo, Inc. reported a decrease in profit for the first quarter due to a decline in revenue. Net income dropped to $1.834 billion or $1.33 per share, missing Street expectations. Core earnings were $2.031 billion or $1.48 per share, falling short of analysts’ estimates. Operating profit decreased to $2.583 billion. Revenue for the quarter was $17.919 billion, below the consensus estimate. The company lowered its fiscal 2025 core EPS outlook to be 3% lower than last year. Chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta cited increased supply chain costs and subdued consumer conditions as reasons for uncertainty.
