Renewed support predicted for Hong Kong shares after market ended lower

Global markets are expected to open higher, led by oil and technology stocks. On Wall Street, major averages surged with the Dow up 1.23%, NASDAQ up 2.74%, and S&P 500 up 2.03%. Semiconductor stocks performed well, with a 5.6% spike in the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index. Treasury Secretary mentioned a possible trade agreement with South Korea. U.S. jobless claims rose slightly, while durable goods orders surged in March. Crude oil prices rose slightly after a previous drop.
