Restaurant chain Culver’s announces Julie Fussner as CEO

American restaurant chain Culver’s has appointed Julie Fussner as its fifth CEO, making her the first woman in the role. She will oversee the network of over 670 owner operators and 45,000 team members serving ButterBurgers and Fresh Frozen Custard in 26 US states. Fussner takes over from retired CEO Enrique “Rick” Silva. Culver’s co-founder Craig Culver praised Fussner’s leadership qualities and alignment with the company’s values.

Fussner, who joined Culver’s in 2017 as marketing vice-president and later became the chief marketing officer, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead the brand. In 2024, Culver’s achieved $3.8bn in sales, a 15.5% increase from the previous year. The company also saw a 6% rise in the number of outlets and a significant sales growth of 113% since 2020.

Under Fussner’s leadership, Culver’s aims to continue its success by prioritizing customer satisfaction and upholding the brand’s values of Midwest hospitality. With average sales per outlet reaching $3.8m in 2024, Culver’s has outperformed the burger segment average of $2.25m. The company’s expansion and financial growth reflect its commitment to quality and service excellence.
