Bitcoin Standard author Saifedean Ammous reassures that even if Michael Saylor’s Strategy hoarded 48% of Bitcoin’s total supply, it wouldn’t threaten the protocol or its price. Ammous emphasizes that companies like BlackRock don’t truly own the Bitcoin they hold, as it belongs to investors. Bitcoin is currently trading at $93,250. Strategy and BlackRock collectively hold 5.3% of the total Bitcoin supply, with Strategy paying an average of $67,793 per Bitcoin. Ammous believes this isn’t a cause for concern, as these companies hold Bitcoin on behalf of their shareholders and ETF holders. If they were to misuse their holdings, investors would likely look elsewhere for exposure to Bitcoin. Twenty One Capital, a new Bitcoin treasury company, aims to rival Strategy as the go-to vehicle for investors seeking Bitcoin exposure.
