One-third of Joann stores will close by next week, with the rest to follow next month after the company filed for bankruptcy in January 2025. Going-out-of-business sales are ending soon at 255 locations, with over 500 stores set to close by the end of May, as announced by CEO Scott Carpenter.

Joann, based in Hudson, Ohio, announced the closure of approximately 500 out of its more than 800 locations across the U.S. The company’s assets were acquired by GA Group and Joann’s term lenders in a February 2025 auction, leading to the store closures and liquidation sales.
