Indian shares surged in early trading on Wednesday, boosted by hopes of easing trade tensions and President Trump’s statement on Fed Chair Powell. The S&P/BSE Sensex was up 0.6% at 80,047, while the NSE Nifty index rose 0.5% to 24,291. LTIMindTree rose 3.4% before earnings release, HCL Technologies surged 7% on a 8% profit increase, and Tata Communications saw a doubled net profit. PNC Infratech and Ashoka Buildcon climbed after securing new orders. Bharti Airtel dipped slightly after a spectrum rights transfer, while Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services declined 1.4% due to a profit drop. Ambuja Cements fell 1% after acquiring a stake in Orient Cement.
